HYDERABAD: Alleging that the Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram is betraying the Telangana movement, activists of the Prajasanghala (People’s organisations) JAC on Friday tried to stone the professor’s house at Tarnaka.Tension prevailed as TJAC activists also reached there in support of Kodandaram but police prevented any confrontation between the two groups.More than 80 activists led by Prajasanghala JAC convener Gajjala Kantham reached Kodandaram’s house at Nagarjuna Nagar Colony in Tarnaka raising slogans against the TJAC chairman. The activists alleged the TJAC changed its stand on Sakala Janula Samme and on a separate Telangana after his and TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao’s visit to New Delhi.Kantham alleged the TJAC had entered into a pact with the Centre and is deliberately diluting the movement.“Kodandaram should give a clarification on dilution of the Sakala Janula Samme,’’ Kantham demanded. The TJAC chairman was not present in the house when protesters reached there. However, as the news spread, hundreds of T activists also reached the place. Anticipating trouble as the two groups started to raise slogans and counter-slogans, forces were rushed to the locality. Osmania University police took 23 protesters into preventive custody and later let them off.
