Lucknow: Even as the Lucknow DIG said whistleblower IPS officer Devendra Dutt Mishra is not mentally sound, the Uttar Pradesh government has directed the anti-corruption bureau to investigate into the charges made by Mishra.
Mishra, a DIG in the Uttar Pradesh Fire Service Department who is due to retire in 2 years, had threatened to make public files containing evidence of the massive embezzlement of funds in the state.
Mishra took on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati by alleging massive corruption in the state and was allegedly manhandled and forcibly taken to a mental hospital on Friday night.
He alleged that senior officers had siphoned off crores and that his superior had pressurised him to clear files.
He also said that corruption was so blatant that those involved in the Saharanpur murders had been left to go scot-free.
