Proposals worth Rs 1,000 crore were presented at the business meet organised as part of the ‘NRK Sangamam 2012’, which concluded here on Sunday.
The non-resident Keralites presented proposals on various sectors, including, tourism, IT, real estate and education, at the ‘Business Kerala’ session at Marian College here. This comes as a major boost to the state government as it plans to soon conduct ‘Emerging Kerala’, to attract investments in the state.
Programme director of Kochi-Muziris Biennale, an international exhibition of contemporary art to be held from December 12 in Kochi, Riyaz Komu, explained the details of the expo.

The slogan of ‘Holidaying at 22 degree’ did not match the situation at ground as the temperature in the hill station varied from 17 to 18 degree Celsius. The organisers said that the holidayers could get the real feel of the unpredictability of Kuttikanam as the climate changes each day, including the monsoon showers. Around 137 registrations were recorded at the meeting, by participants from 17 countries, including, the US, England, Germany, Austria, Norway and the Middle Eastern countries.
Of these, 20 per cent came without their families.
Various programmes like, mehendi sessions, film exhibition and cookery events were organised. A career guidance programme was also arranged for the children of Gulf NRKs.
The organisers said that this year’s programme is a small step towards making it a major event in the coming years.
The meet was inaugurated by Water Resources Minister P J Joseph by staging a musical programme, along with his family.
KTDC chairman Vijayan Thomas, Cholayil group managing director A V Anoop, Dhanwanthari Vaidyasala managing director Anoop Dhanwanthari and investment advisor Babu Mohanan took part in the discussions.
