New Delhi: Pune court may issue summons to 18 directors of the Lavasa township project on Tuesday to track and update and may also give its orders on separate pleas. One of the Rashtriya Bhrashtachar Virodhi Jan Sanghatan President wants to make him a co-complainant in the case and that of a farmer who is asking to be made a witness in the matter.
The environment ministry on November 9 gave conditional clearance to the first phase of Rs3,000 crore Lavasa hill city project near Pune in Maharashtra, officials said.
Lavasa, a project of Hindustan Construction Company (HCC), had in February applied for fresh environment clearance of phase-I spread over 2,000 hectares in Mulshi sub-district near Pune.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan earlier said that there was a misconception that political heavyweights pushed for the clearance announced in the court, maintaining that the meeting between the NCP leadership and the Congress and the time of the court order was just a mere co-incidence.
