HYDERABAD: Swiss watchmaker Rado unveiled its high jewellery watch collection at their showroom here on Tuesday.Unveiling the collection of diamond-studded watches in the price range of `5 lakh - `12 lakh, Anith Reddy, director of the Hyderabad store said, “The most expensive watch we keep, on an average, costs about `5 lakh. But the jewellery collection can cost anything between `1 lakh and `12 lakh and beyond.”“The collection is different from our usual collection in terms of being a piece of jewellery than just a time piece. If you compare it with the other watches, there are more number of diamonds and it is more specifically crafted, said Manoj Nair, sales manager and added, “In terms of sales, people seem to be willing to spend when it comes to Hyderabad. Though of course, Delhi is always the front-runner no matter what the market.” “There’s been a 35 percent growth in the market actually and our store has been open in Hyderabad for a just little more that three years,” said Anith.So while watches are indeed a symbol of class and style, the collection aims to take the status symbol up a notch. Some of these designs are rare and could be collectables. The special jewellery collection will be on display at the Rado store in Banjara Hills for a month, before it moves on to Pune.
