New Delhi: Don't let that fragile frame and simple look of his mislead you. He is a man capable of accomplishing great things and his back-to-back hits, 'Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu', 'Naan Mahaan Alla' and 'Azhagar Saamiyin Kuthirai', stand testimony to this fact.
When a man with such potential works on a new film, it is only natural that those in the industry are eager to know about its status. Ask him about the status of his next project 'Rajapattai', starring Vikram and Deeksha Seth in the lead, and Suseenthiran says, "The film is almost over and we will be launching its trailer on Deepavali. The movie will hit screens in December this year."
The film, in which Vikram will appear almost in 14 different avatars in one song, is a bilingual and will be simultaneously released in Tamil and Telugu.
Point out to Suseenthiran that there have been reports that claim that almost three to four crores were spent on the climax of the film, and he refutes the claim saying, "I can assure you that we haven’t spent that much on the climax of 'Rajapattai', which is a commercial film. A set for Rs 60 lakh was erected for it and even if one took into consideration all the other costs, the expenses wouldn’t exceed the 1-crore mark."
But what about rumours that Shriya Saran and Reema Sen are part of an item song that has been composed for the film?
Says Suseenthiran, "It is true that the two have been a part of a song that was shot in Italy. But then, it is not an item number. It is basically a dream sequence in which Vikram dreams about actresses and they appear as a part of it."
If one goes by the opinion that prevails in the industry, it is evident that Suseenthiran is not loved only for his ability to deliver hits. Says a source in the industry, "He has a big heart that always beats for friends which is why people like Appu Kutty and Suri adore him. Both have been known to openly admit that it is Suseenthiran who has given them a new lease of life. It is only after acting in his movies that both have been getting so many other offers now."
Draw his attention to this opinion about him and Suseenthiran says, "I struggled a lot to come up. So, I understand the problems they face. That is why I intend to help newcomers as much as I can."
Finally, now that 'Rajapattai' is almost done, what does he intend to do next?
Says Suseenthiran, "I will be doing a film with Vishnu called 'Veera Theera Suran'. The film will be a comedy. Work on this film will start in April next year."
