New Delhi: The brutal massacre of migrant labourers in Assam has drawn condemnation from a large number of readers on IBNlive.com, most of whom have also blamed the political parties for their “mishandling” of the Northeast affairs in the past.
“The sheer depravity of ULFA cadres is all too evident. It also shows the security policies of the UPA Government in the poor light. It simply has forgotten the distinction between terrorists and insurgents. ULFA clearly belongs to the former category,” says Pranav Sachdeva.
”Behind every successful terrorist organisation, there is a political party. It is sad that we blame and annihilate the branches and leaves and spare the roots, only to allow it to grow into another tree,” observes Ronnie.
Surekha Jha blames the Congress for being soft on terrorists. "It's simply indulging in votebank politics. Terrorism was never this bad. The Congress should stop flirting with such elements," she says.
"The recent killings in Assam again prove that with the UPA Government, ULFA has again risen its hood, this time against innocent Biharis and UPA can again claim, justify and enjoy its theory of divide and rule. If Mulayam Singh's government is held responsible for Nithari killings, Sonia's Government is also responsible for innocent killings of Biharis," argues Thomas Verkey.
"ULFA is closely linked to Pakistani ISI and anti-Indian forces. It is high time Indians learnt to live with terrorism," V K Bansal states.
"The ULFA is running a parallel government in Assam, and the massacre of labourer reflects the mind setup of some minority-governed organisation, which doesn’t believes in democracy and diversity," Rohit says.
"By this act of cowardice, the ULFA has lost all its sympathisers from rest of the country. I would advice them to shut down," says Prabhudas.
