KATTAPPANA: The revenue officials team led by Sub Collector M G Rajamanikyam erected the department's board proclaiming the reclamation of the encroached land in Bison valley village in Udumbanchola on Thursday. The 71acre land was seized by revenue department last month.
Udumbanchola tahsildar V R Mohanan Pillai said that this land, from where temporary sheds and fencing were removed last month, was unclaimed by the task force in 2007. A revenue inspector has also been deputed to monitor encroachment activities in the Bison valley village area in the future. The revenue department also cancelled 10 illegal land title deeds from the area on Thursday that were submitted to the Sub Collector. Pillai said these land title deeds were fake and unregistered in the Revenue Department records. A case has been registered under Land Conservancy Act against the people who used fake title deeds to encroach upon the revenue land, he added. The tahsildhar said that more lands will be earmarked in Chinnakkanal area on Friday.
