BANGALORE: The Central Division Police have arrested 67 accused in the last one month in connection with 100 cases of theft, extortion, house breaking theft and recovered stolen property worth Rs. 1.70 crore.They have recovered 14 cars, 50 two-wheelers, three three-wheelers, 3 kg gold, 6 kg silver from the accused.The High Grounds police arrested eight students who were into drag racing and wheeling at Airport Road at night. These students used to rob boys and girls to earn easy money during drag racing. They were assaulting victims with their helmets and rob gold chains, mobile phones, cash, ATM/credit cards etc. The accused have been identified as Venkatesh, Naveen, Praveen Kumar, Chandan, Purushottam, Srikanth, Arun Kumar and Kartik. In another case, the accused identified as Ajai, Jyothi and Nagarathna, who used to ask their under-aged children to steal by providing them duplicate keys of houses, were arrested by the Wilson Garden police. Jewels worth Rs.1 lakh have been recovered from them.Vidhana Soudha police arrested Yatish alias Bakabaka alias Shishya and recovered car cars from him. He was involved in race and gambling cases and was stealing cars by using duplicate keys.
