SABARIMALA: The Travancore Devaswom Board would give free food to pilgrims (24 hours) during the peak days of Makaravilakku season in January.  Travancore Devaswom Board president M Rajagopalan Nair said that the devaswom free food facilities at Malikappuram would offer food to the pilgrims during the peak Makaravilakku season to prevent exploitation of the pilgrims and inadequate facilities in the nearby areas. Darsan till Jan 20Rajagopalan Nair said the pilgrims would be allowed  darsan only till January 20 evening during the Mandalam-Makaravilakku season.MakarasamkramamRajagopalan Nair said the special rituals in connection with the auspicious Makarasamkramam at Lord Ayyappa Temple would be held at 12.59 a m on Jan 15.Makaravilakku The TDB president said that the annual Makaravilakku pooja, after adorning Lord  Ayyappa’s idol with Thiruvabharanam, would be performed in the temple at 6.30 p m on January 15.‘Guruthi’ at Malikappuram “The annual ‘Guruthi’ ritual would be held at Malikappuram temple at 11 p m on January 20,” Nair said. Temple to be Closed  on January 21 Rajagopalan Nair said that the hill shrine would be closed at 6 a m on January 21 after Pandalam Raja’s darsan of Lord  Ayyappa.Thiruvabharanam return processionThe procession carrying Thiruvabharanam boxes would begin its journey from Sannidhanam at 7 a m on January 21.  The procession would reach Pandalam on January 24 morning.
