Sabarimala Temple closed

PATHANAMTHITTA: Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple was closed on Saturday, marking the conclusion of the annual Mandalam-Makaravilaku season.The temple was closed at 7 am after the customary darsan of the representative of the Pandalam Raja, Hari Varma.After the closure of the shrine, the ceremony of handing over the key of the sreekovil was held near the Holy Steps.As part of the ceremony, the Pandalam Raja representative offered a ‘kizhi’, containing coins, to Melsanthi N Balamurali for performing the rituals at the temple.
