Each year, lakhs of devotees visit Kerala’s Sabarimala Temple to seek the blessings of Lord Ayyappan, making reservations months in advance. Keeping the convenience of pilgrims in mind, authorities have now decided to make online registration mandatory for temple visit.

This decision was taken during a review meeting regarding the preparations for the Sabarimala Mandala Makaravilakku Mahotsavam, presided over by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. It has been decided that a maximum of 80,000 visitors will be allowed each day.

Necessary facilities will be provided to devotees along the Kanana Path. Special arrangements and improvements are being made for devotees visiting the Sabarimala Temple.

It has been decided that if there is a need to control vehicle movement during peak hours, specific centres will be identified, and the necessary infrastructure will be established.

Additional parking facilities are being developed at Nilakkal and Erumeli. The repair work of roads and parking areas leading to Sabarimala are expected to be completed soon.
