New Delhi: Sania Mirza's win over much higher ranked opponents in the past few weeks has seen her climb to the 29th rank in the latest WTA singles rankings.
The 20-year-old Sania had also won her match against former former world No.1 Martina Hingis in the West Bank Classic and reached the finals. She now has 915 points.
Belgium's Justine Henin is at the top spot with 4,457 points followed by Russia's Maria Sharapova at second place with 3,845 points and Serbian Jelena Jankovic third.
Sania's doubles ranking has also jumped to 25th rank with 1,321 points after a good run in recent weeks.
Sunitha Rao lost four spots to be 222nd with 124 points while Shikha Uberoi gained three ranks to be 330 with 66.75 points.
In the men's section Mahesh Bhupathi's win at Montreal Masters saw him climb two places up to be 19th in the ATP doubles rankings.
Rohan Bopanna gained two places to move up to 89th spot. Meanwhile, Leander Paes continued to be in the top 10 despite losing one place to be ninth.
In singles, Bopanna remained the top ranked Indian though he slipped one place for the 223rd position. Prakash Amritraj also slid two places to be 270th.
Karan Rastogi gained one place to be 339th.
