New Delhi: A man accused of involvement in the murder of Satyendra Dubey, an engineer who exposed corruption in the Golden Quadrilateral highway project, was on Thursday arrested three weeks after his escape.
Uday Paswan, who escaped from a court in Patna, was arrested from a village in Bihar's Gaya district. Paswan and three other men are accused of murdering Dubey, an engineer with the National Highways Authority of India, when he tried to stop them from robbing him.
Dubey’s murder on November 27, 2003 led to national outrage because days ago he had written to the Prime Minister and told him about corruption in the highway project. He wanted his name not be revealed.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had asked Director-General of Police in Bihar to personally probe Paswan’s escape.
