BAGNALORE: State Bank of Mysore Managing Director Dilip Mavinakurve on Saturday announced the launch of green banking initiatives to mark Gandhi Jayanti and Foundation Day of the bank.Speaking to reporters, Dilip Mavinakurve said that the launch of the green banking initiatives is aimed at improving the quality of service to customers. “It is our constant endeavour to strive towards customer convenience and satisfaction through 98 years of banking experience and services to the people. We are confident that our customers, clients and public alike will find our customer-oriented initiatives useful, practical and convenient,” Mavinakurve said. The initiatives are SMS Unhappy and Online Loan Application and Tracking. The SMS Unhappy envisages a simple, paperless means to facilitate customers to represent their complaints or grievances for an early and effective solution. “Customers may express their unhappiness over any of their banking experience with us through the use of SMS facility from their mobile phones. An SMS with the word Unhappy sent to our exclusive number - 99 0002 0002 - is received by the special control room (Happy Room) at our Head Office. Acknowledgement of the complaint is automated and an efficient grievance redressal process is initiated by escalating the grievance or complaint to the respective branch. Around 80 per cent of complaints will be attended within 48 hours,” he said. The other initiative is online loan application. The bank will introduce this system from October 2. “Our customers are welcome to apply for loans through our website”, he added.
