'Security staff' rapes class 12 girl at Sardar Patel medical college

A class 12 student was allegedly raped by a youth at a medical college here, police said on Wednesday.

In her complaint, the 17-year-old victim alleged that the accused Deepak alias Rahul called her at Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel hospital on Friday where he took her to a room and raped her, they said.

The accused befriended the victim girl when she came to the hospital to admit her injured brother four months back, following which he told her that he works as a guard in the hospital, police said.

Hospital authorities told the police that there is nobody named Deepak or Rahul working in the hospital, they said.

"There is nobody with the name, as mentioned by the victim, working in the hospital," Principal of the college, Dr Pradip Bharti told PTI.

Police raided the premises of the college but could not find the accused.

In order to nab the accused, police is in touch with the outsourcing agency which is tasked with hiring of guards at the hospital, police said, adding that a case has been registered against him.
