Seven members of a family were killed and two others were injured when their jeep collided with a bus on Jabalpur-Jaipur national highway near Rajgarh on Thursday, police said.
The mishap occurred when the Jodhpur-bound bus hit the jeep which was headed towards Rajgarh, they said. The occupants of the jeep were returning after participating in a marriage-related function, police said. According to police, five persons were killed on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries in a hospital.
The deceased were identified as Kailash (30), Laxmichandra Sen (45), Rambharose (20), Seema (25), Rani (16) Jamnalal (30) and Mahesh (25), police said, adding that injured persons were referred to Bhopal for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.
