Mumbai: Do you enjoy concocting and serving drinks? Here's some good news for you - this entertainment hub of India will host the finale of Diageo Reserve World Class where bartenders and mixologists from 38 other countries will be put to test through a series of challenges.
To be held in July, the competition, which is aimed at celebrating luxury drinks, cocktail culture and the art of bartending, is a search for the finest bartender in the world.
Before this, the India leg of the competition will be conducted in May in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata where mixolgists from different bars and lounges from the respective cities will undergo brand education sessions on Diageo Reserve Brands portfolio and cocktail training. They will be short-listed through various processes, including written tests and bartending competitions.
Sixteeen winners will be selected through individual brand competitions in the four cities. Each city will have four events and the final of the India leg will be in New Delhi.
Tim Eitherington, Diageo reserve brand Ambassador, is the curator and judge of this competition.
The event will also be focussed towards educating and inspiring bartenders to create unique cocktails, improve service and create fine drinking experiences.
The competition has already taken place in cities like London, New York, Sydney, Paris, Seoul, Amsterdam, Athens and Vienna.
