Striking veterinary doctors in the state will continue to treat livestock but will not submit their reports and documents to the government until their demands are fulfilled.
“We will not participate in the department meetings as well as the Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) meetings,” said vice president Nataraja T H, Karnataka Veterinary Doctors Association.
He further said that these reports included the consolidated case reports, treatment details, vaccination reports and socio-economic programme reports.
When contacted, Minister for Animal Husbandry Revu Nayak Belamgi said that he would negotiate the matter on Wednesday with the office bearers of the Karnataka Veterinary Doctors Association.
He said that reports are crucial and that it will impact activities in the animal husbandry department.
“I have asked them for some time.
Although all their demands may not be met, we can work out a solution that is approximate,” said Belamgi.
The Karnataka State Veterinary Inspectors Association has postponed its strike indefinitely.
Nagaraj, president of the association is hopeful that their demands will be fulfilled at the Cabinet meeting.
“We do not want to cause trouble to anyone.
There is also the National programme going on for animal census and we have to contribute to it.
Officials from the concerned departments have assured us that our demands will be discussed and implemented,” said Nagaraj.
