BANGALORE: Approximately 25 thousand students from different colleges of the ABVP wing joined hands to form a mammoth student chain in four directions of the city — Asharam circle, Basavangudi, 18th Cross Malleshwaram, M G Road and Freedom Park. At the end a huge gathering was organised at Freedom Park with more than 10,000 students participating.ABVP’s All India Joint Organising Secretary, K N Raghunandan addressed the gathering. The gathering was held against the corruption going on in the country, and also condemned the negligent attitude of the Central Government towards enforcing Jana Lokapal Bill and enactment of legislation to bring back the black money.The students further demanded the President to immediately dismiss such a corrupt central government which is looting the nation in day light.While addressing the gathering Raghunandan appealed the youth to actively participate and contribute in this fight against corruption and join ABVP’s fight against corruption will continue till the dream of ‘Corruption free Bharat’ is fulfilled.In support of this movement Gnyanand Swamiji of Bharat Swabhiman Trust participated along with NEC member Smita, State Joint Secretary Pushpa and City Secretary Ravikumar.At the event the Swami said, “All the money that has gone in to the pockets of the ministers during the commonwealth games, the money that is lying in the Swiss bank, the 2G scam, mid-day meals scheme etc all need to go back to people.There are so many flaws in the government and to end this incessant corruption the youth — that makes 60 per cent of the population in the country — has to come together and fight against it. ” Prem, one of the members of the ABVP said, “We are a part of the so called ‘saffronised’ community but we are not here to spread communalism." He further added that their sole intention is to eradicate corruption and make sure that the Lokpal bill is passed.‘‘We need to stop somewhere and the youth has to come forward and do something about it, because we are the future of the country,” he opined Young students organised a march to protest against the omnipresent corruption today. Saffron ABVP flags adorned the area in and around Anil Kumble Circle and the MG Road.There were banners speaking about the crores of rupees looted and stashed away in the foreign banks by corrupt politicians. These flags and banners were seen in front of places like the Cubbon Park, Hard Rock Cafe etc.The protesting students want the government to put an end to the series of scandals, like CWG and 3G spectrum, which has led to the theft of the money which should ideally be used for the development of the country.The protesters gathered at various points and finally assembled in Freedom Park.
