Former chief minister H D Kumarswamy alleged that the funds released for the Amruthbhoomi Yojana under the Savayava Mission was being misused as election funds by the BJP government.
Kumaraswamy told reporters here on Sunday that the government has been preparing ground for the Assembly polls by misusing public money. He alleged that the government had appointed RSS leaders as the convenors of the Amrutabhoomi Trust thorough which Rs 1 crore was released to each taluk. However, these funds were being provided to the BJP workers for conduction election related works.
On crop loan waiver, he said the government assured to release the funds in June next year when the state faces the general elections to the Assembly. Kumaraswamy said both the state and centre had failed in tackling drought situation.
List of Poll Candidates to be announced in Oct
Meanwhile, Kumarswamy also stated that the JD(S) was prepared to face the elections for which five committees have been formed to finalise the candidates. The list of candidates would be announced in the first week of October.
He also expressed confidence that the JD(S) would win over 45 seats in North Karnataka and around 70 seats in the South and come to power in the state.
Senior JD(S) leader Basavaraj Horatti has been appointed the Parliamentary Board chairman of the party, he said.
