KANNUR: K Sudhakaran MP has reiterated his demand to conduct a reinvestigation into the Koothuparamba firing  incident in which five DYFI workers were killed more than 15 years ago.K Sudhakaran first made the demand when former Kannur DCC president P Ramakrishnan disclosed during a press conference that it was Sudhakaran who persuaded former minister and CMP leader M V Raghavan to visit Koothuparamba on the day of the police firing, braving the DYFI agitators. Ramakrishnan alleged that it was Sudhakaran’s action that led to a series of violent incidents in the district.M V Raghavan, however, clarified later that he had not been compelled by anyone to visit Koothuparamba on the fateful day and that “as a politician he can’t be persuaded by anyone”.Sudhakaran’s argument was that there had been a conspiracy behind the incident. He stated that DYFI workers from different parts had turned up at Koothuparamba with the intention of killing Raghavan. He also claimed that many DYFI workers would come forward with evidence to support his statement .
