HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLAs from Telangana region were arrested when they staged a dharna at the camp office of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday.Several TTDP MLAs under the leadership of Telangana Telugu Desam Forum (TTDF) convenor E Dayakar Rao, tried to besiege the chief minister’s camp office. The TDP MLAs staged the protest demanding a separate Telangana state. The Punjagutta police arrested the MLAs. Seemandhra MLAs’Complaint to SHRC Meanwhile, Seemandhra TDP MLAs and MLCs under the leadership of MLA D Narendra Kumar, lodged a complaint with the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on Saturday seeking a direction to the Anantapur police to take action against factionalists involved in political murders. They alleged that though many TDP activists in Anantapur were killed by the factionalists, the police failed to take action against the accused. The TDP demanded a CID probe into factionalists’ activities in the state. Responding to the TDP’s complaint, the SHRC sought a detailed report from the Anantapur DIG on political murders before October 26.When the Seemandhra TDP MLAs were at the SHRC office, some Telangana activists obstructed them and raised Jai Telangana slogans. The TDP leaders countered them with Jai Samaikyandhra slogans. But police pacified both the groups and sent them away.
