HYDERABAD: MLA Marri Shashidhar Reddy, one among the several Telangana public representatives who have not resigned from their MLA seats, had a bitter experience on Tuesday, when several pro-Telangana activists threw eggs, chappals at his convoy at Balkampet.Reddy came to Balkampet to attend a religious programme at Yellama temple. Balkampet Telangana protagonists gheraoed and stopped the convoy of Reddy. The agitators demanded Reddy to put in his resignation in support of the separate statehood to Telangana. Some of the protestors threw chappals and eggs at his convoy.“The agitators who were involved in the incident were identified and arrested,’’ Hyderabad police commissioner AK Khan said. Pro-Telangana activists also tried to lay siege the residence of Malkajgiri MP Sarve Satyanarayana and Malkajgiri MLA Akula Rajender, demanding their resignations.However, police were already deployed, at all the residences of the public representatives who did not put in their papers. Meanwhile, a pro-Telangana activist climbed a tower near the residence of Rajender and threatened to commit suicide if the MLA does not resign. Another agitator tried to set himself ablaze. Later, cops took them into custody.
