HYDERABAD: The Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) is likely to meet on Monday to prepare a new action plan to intensify the ongoing movement from November 16.
TJAC and its main political constituent TRS are of the opinion that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's remarks on Telangana indicate that the Centre is not going to deliver a Telangana state. They decided to intensify the T movement by targeting Congress leaders in the region. They would force the T Congress leaders to quit party and join statehood movement or more precisely, the TRS.
TJAC has decided to direct the parties which are either part of it or are supporting them from outside to corner the Congressled UPA government in the winter session of Parliament beginning on November 22.The TRS chief is also in touch with some TDP legislators and is reportedly forcing them to join the TRS. While trying to a create wide political platform for TJAC and TRS, Chandrasekhar Rao is also said to be considering playing a key role in the national politics targeting the Congress. MPs and MLAs from other parties might join the TRS in phases and it would continue till 2014, a TRS leader said. "Ultimately we want to build political unity in Telangana under the aegis of the TRS and TJAC," he explained. However, Telangana Praja Front president Gadar took a strong objection to the TJAC stand. He demanded it should lead a nonpolitical movement. "Nonpolitical movement is the only solution to achieving T," he remarked.
