HYDERABAD: A tenant stabbed his landlady and fled away with her gold jewellery at Ghatkesar late on Sunday night. According to police, 50- year-old Nirmala of Ghatkesar runs a grocery store and gave some portions for rent in her three-storeyed building. A cab driver, Venkatesh is one of her tenants.Around 11 p.m on Sunday, Nirmala had closed the store and was on her way to her house on the first floor of the building when Venkatesh suddenly attacked her from behind with a knife.As Nirmala collapsed on the stai rs, Venkatesh snatched away her three gold chains and fled away. Nirmala suffered injuries in the stomach and was shifted to a nearby hospital by neighbours. Nirmala’s condition is said to be stable. Police registered cases of theft and attempt to murder against Venkatesh and have launched a hunt for him.
