THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The capital city on Friday bid a tearful adieu to C K Chandrappan. The rush of people to the CPI state headquarters to pay last respects to the departed leader when his mortal remains were placed there on Thursday evening continued till Friday morning when the body was taken to Alappuzha for cremation.When the cortege was taken out of  MN Smarakam, thousands of party workers and sympathisers shouted  slogans ‘Chandrappan has not died, he will live in our hearts’ with  heavy hearts.From early morning, large number of people queued up to pay their last respects. Union Minister Vayalar Ravi, former minister Kadannappally Ramachandran are among those who paid their tributes. CPI national leader Gurudas Dasgupta had come to the city from New Delhi on Thursday night itself. Other national leaders,  A B Bardhan and D Raja, have gone to attend the cremation in Alappuzha in the evening.MPs M I Shanavas, A Sampath, N Peethambarakurup, M K Raghavan and Congress leader M M Hassan came to the MN Smarakam here and paid their respects.
