TNHB told to consider plea of canteen owner

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has directed the managing director of Tamil Nadu Housing Board in Nandanam to consider a representation from D Gunaseelan, who is running a canteen, alleging threats from the employees of the Board.Considering the limited scope of the prayer in the writ petition, without going into the merits of the matter, this writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the TNHB MD to consider the representation dated May 31 last of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within eight weeks, Justice P Jyothimani said, recently.In his representation to the MD, petitioner alleged that certain named and unnamed employees of the Board unleashed threats against him as he refused to give them money. If this kind of threats and abuses continued, he would not be in a position to continue the canteen, petitioner added.
