Ram Pravesh Baitha hailing from Madhuban in East Champaran district, was arrested in a joint operation of Special Task Force (STF) and Muzaffarpur police, Inspector General of Police (Operation) Amit Kumar said in a statement.
The IGP said another naxal Pravesh Mishra was also arrested in the same district on Sunday.
Mishra has been supplying arms and explosives to ultra Left outfit, the IGP said.
Kumar said, Baitha has been a hardcore Maoist, involved in more than 30 serious naxal incidents.
