Top taxpayers feted

CHENNAI: The Highest tax payers in the State for the  financial year 2010-11, were felicitated at the valedictory function held to mark 150-years of the Income Tax Department.Lakshmi Narayanan, Vice-Chairman, Cognizant Technology Solutions, was the highest individual taxpayer. His representative received a memento on his behalf. Shriram Transport Company Limited was declared the highest taxpayer in the corporate sector. Director S Venkatkrishnan received honours. The Salem District Cooperative Bank was named highest tax payer in the non-corporate segment. Ramadoss, Special Officer and Jt Registrar of the bank, was felicitated.
