HYDERABAD: At the book launch of ‘Trailblazers Hyderabad’ the presence of illustrious men and women from the city provided another reason to celebrate the place. The faces in the audience comprised the who’s who list of Hyderabad, in contrast to the transient portaits taking shape.
Published by KPMA business publications, the coffee-table book chronicles the lives of 57 achievers and organizations who put Hyderabad on the map.
“The diverse range of personalities covered in the book makes me believe that each sector is deserving of a volume to catalogue the achievers,” commented the union minister of state for human resource development, Dr D Purandeswari who officially launched the book.
The directors of the publication house, Ramakrishna V Achanta and Manoj Chandrashekar were also present at the event.
Executive director of Apollo Group of Hospitals, Sangita Reddy spoke for her father, Dr Prathap C Reddy who is one of the trailblazers portrayed in the book.
Sharing her optimism, she said, “The GDP dampened to 7.5 per cent looks bad from where we are but in the global perspective, we are looking good. What we need in the country are more visionaries to take it forward.”
The dean of Indian School of Business (ISB), Ajit Rangnekar, who feels being a part of ISB put him on the trailblazing map, said, “I would say that the city has been fortunate in the field of education and its time the different sectors come together for making it the city at the top of the heap.” The dean too found his space among the pages of the book.
The book marks the achievements of key corporates and sectors such as hospitality, infrastructure and projects, real estate, events and exhibitions and entertainment and leisure among others.
