GULBARGA: Students at Hullur village of Jewargi taluk in the district locked their classrooms on Thursday and protested in front of the school demanding their teachers' mass transfer.
Of the seven teachers at the Higher Primary School, four travel to and from Afzalpur and three others, including headmaster Malingaraya, live in Hullur.The students, who started boycotting school from Thursday, alleged that teachers were irregular and hold classes just twice a week. The parents of the students, who also joined the protest, alleged that students studying in 7th standard cannot even write the Kannada alphabet. Students also told reporters that at times teachers stay back in school at night and consume meat and alcohol. They then ask students to clean up the mess, the pupils alleged.
