New Delhi: A scientist told the Dehradun court on Thursday that the DNA of slain poetess Madhumita Shukla's foetus has matched with that of Amarmani Tripathi, former Uttar Pradesh minister and one of the prime accused in the murder case.
Appearing before District and Sessions Judge V B Roy, Dr S P R Prasad of Hyderabad Forensic Laboratory said the DNA sample of the foetus carried by Madhumita matched with that of Tripathi, the CBI sources said.
Earlier, a handwriting expert also told the court that the handwriting found in the letters written by Tripathi and Madhumita to each other were matched.
The case is being heard in Dehradun following the order of the Supreme Court, which shifted the case from Lucknow to Dehradun on a plea of family members of Madhumita that Tripathi was influencing the witnesses.
