This may sound like a nostalgic trip to those days when despite there being no choice, with only a state owned channel to watch, I was entertained!
Apart from few news channels, channels that show films or a sports channel, these days there is nothing much to watch, unless you want to tie yourself down to decipher the numerous romantic triangles in a soap opera. Or watch forced comdies that drive you up the wall with their innuendoes and loud humour or some truly tragic reality game shows that lack any sense of creativity.
Has the televison transformed itself into the cliche of the idiot box?

From krishi darshan to chitrahaar to Ramayan to Vyomkesh Bakshi to Tandoori Nights. From spiderman to Sherlock Holmes to Hercule Poirot to Humlog to Maharbharat..there were many programs that truly entertained. No regressive serials harping on somebody's patni and their wo(h)es!
