THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two CBI inspectors attached to the Thriuvananthapuram unit, whose names were found in the suicide note of CBI officer P G Haridath, have been transferred. C Unnikrishnan Nair was transferred to Kolkata and K K Rajan to Guwahati.  The order from the CBI headquarters came on Wednesday and they were relieved from duty in the afternoon. According to CBI authorities here, “they were transferred on public interest.”  Haridath too was attached to the CBI’s Thiruvananthapuram unit.  Haridath, who had investigated the Sampath custodial death case involving top police officials, was found dead undermysterious circumstances on March 15. His body was hanging from a ceiling fan in the bedroom of his residence. Investigators had found a note, with a few names scribbled, including Unnikrishnan Nair and Rajan.  Sampath was the prime accused in the Sheela murder case registered at Puthur, Palakkad. He died in police custody in March 2010 and later the High Court handed over the case to the CBI.
