Two planes make emergency landing in Mumbai, Delhi
Full emergency was declared for Flight IC 685 AMD/BOM A320 at Mumbai.

Mumbai/New Delhi: Two civilian planes with 200 passengers on board landed safely in emergency conditions at the airport in Mumbai and Delhi on Wednesday evening after the pilots reported some technical problems in the aircraft.

An Air India Airbus A320 plane from Ahmedabad carrying 137 passengers landed safely in Mumbai on Wednesday night after reporting a hydraulic failure. The airport declared an emergency.

"A full emergency was declared for Flight IC 685 AMD/BOM A320 due to hydraulic failure. However, the flight landed safely at 2049 hours following which the emergency was withdrawn," a Mumbai International Airport Limited spokesperson said.

All passengers were safe, the spokesperson said, adding that operations were running smoothly thereafter.

Earlier, a Jet Airways plane bound for Vadodara with 63 passengers on board returned to Delhi to make a precautionary landing at IGI airport after its pilot detected some technical fault in its landing gear.

"The Jet Airways' (Flight 9W 2601) ATR aircraft took off from IGI airport around 5.30 pm but the pilot detected some technical fault with the plane's landing gear and decided to make precautionary landing," a Jet Airways spokesperson said in New Delhi.

All precautionary measures were implemented during the landing of the aircraft.

The plane landed safely around 1810 hrs, an airport official said.
