Three persons including two police officials were on Friday found guilty by a district court in a nine-year-old corruption case.
The accused, then Bundi SP, Satyaprakash Singh, then sub-inspector, City Kotwali, Soduram, and executive engineer at the irrigation department Prakeshchandra Ambesh -- were yesterday found guilty in a corruption case filed under Probation of Offenders Act in 2005. In a judgement delivered by Judicial Magistrate Riddhima Sharma, the three were accused for wrongful allotment of work contract in Jaitsagar Talab area of the city.
However, the trio was released on bail along with a bond of Rs 5,000 and on condition of probation of good conduct for a year, officials said.
According to a complaint filed by local contractor Nandkishore in 2005, the two police officials and the engineer had misused their power to allot a work contract of cement to one of their relatives.
When Nandkishore and his son Amit Kumar approached them regarding the contract, they were allegedly beaten up at City Kotwali police station.
A false case was also logged against Nandkishore for interfering in government work, following which the complainant registered a case against the trio.
The court however pronounced Nandkishore innocent in the case.
