THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Announcing solidarity with the Mullaperiyar protest movements in the state, as many as 200 members of the Kerala Catholic Youth Movement (KCYM) swam from the sea to the land at Poonthura.This unique form of protest took place on Saturday morning. The KCYM members held placards, flags and shouted slogans while swimming from the sea to land. The protest was flagged off by former minister V Surendran Pillai. National Swimming champion Vinodkumar’s presence added colour to the protest.
