In an unusual incident at the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Examination in Maharajganj district, a female candidate arrived at the National Girls Intermediate College Dhanewa Dhanei examination centre with an iron chain secured around her waist. During a routine security check, officials discovered the chain with a metal lock and requested that she unlock it. The candidate, however, firmly refused, stating that she would not open the lock even if it meant missing the exam.
Family members of the candidate, who were also present at the centre, supported her decision and explained that unlocking the chain could exacerbate issues related to her reported spiritual afflictions. According to her family, the candidate was haunted by supernatural disturbances, and the chain, recommended by a spiritual advisor, was intended to offer protection.
Despite the unusual circumstances, the room inspector allowed the candidate to take the exam under close supervision. A metal detector’s alert confirmed the presence of the chain, but after a thorough inspection, she was permitted to proceed with the test while still wearing the chain.
