Tata Photon campaign of Leave Office Early had something in store for the Bangaloreans who after a stressful week of hovering with work and datelines were in desperate need of a fresh respite to lighten their hearts. Bombay Vikings fame was in the town to rekindle the Bollywood savvy hearts and settle a celebrating mood amidst the cool summer rain. Neeraj Shridhar Live In Concert was at the Palace Grounds on June 24.Leave Office Early was the new campaign initiated by Tata Indicom in Bangalore, the campaign began with the launch of the microsite, www.leaveofficeearly.com, which allows visitors to register themselves and receive special offers. The initiative encouraged office goers to finish work, leave office early and spend time with their loved ones as it reminds, ‘evenings are the new weekends’.The first song in line to sway the audience was one of cool demeanor, Ajab Leher Hain of the film Dostana, followed by Hare Ram which he expressed had greatly boosted his credibility in Bollywood. Fans recited along the cult Hinglish lines, Hare Ram, Hare Krishna. As Neeraj Shridhar entertained the audience with his melodious voice, it got one realising ‘Oh, so he’s been the voice behind almost all the glamorous songs of Bollywood’. His versatility of shifting gears from crooning romantic voice to downright cool and fun lines got even the reluctant ones off their seats. Fusion of western spirit with Indian sensibility has been Neeraj’s forte as is evident since those good old songs like Woh Chali and Kya Soorat Hain. So it seemed unlikely of him to have beautifully sung a desi song such as Chor Bazaar. He wooed the audience with oh-so-romantic ones like Kya, Hawa Mein Udati Jaaye and Tum Mile. And the next moment, he came up with enthusiastic and activating ones like Hai Pappi, Love Mera Hit to racy ones like Race Saanson Ki. It was ringing Aahun Aahun from everywhere as he sang the popular Punjabi number of Love Aaj Kal.As he connected with the audience who sang along, the mood could rightly be described as Bollywood. Neeraj has his foothold far and wide in filmy songs owing to his versatile voice that clicked from a wide range of hip hop to lyrical numbers. Lucky Ali was a guest spectator at the concert too. The concert lasted for more than two hours and Neeraj finally sang the all time favourite, Woh Chali, citing how close the song is to his heart just as Bangaloreans got closer to him with the filmy nite.
