Wage hike sought

KOCHI: The Kerala Municipal and Corporation Workers Congress has decided to go on strike demanding wage hike for cleaning workers in the municipalities and Corporations.The union members alleged that the wages of the cleaning workers had not been revised since 1994. Last year the LDF government had decided to revise the wages but it was not implemented.  The UDF Government has not taken any decision in this regard and the cleaning workers are getting very little money as wages.   As part of the strike, the union members will take out a Secretariat march on July 27.
