Kolkata: A seven-month-old baby died in Kolkata on Wednesday after an ambulance driver allegedly took out her oxygen mask. Neha Mallik from Howrah, who was suffering from pneumonia, was first taken to a Howrah hospital where the doctors referred her to Kolkata.
While travelling to the Calcutta Medical College the ambulance driver of Tara Ma Ambulance service allegedly took off the oxygen mask.
The family members protested as the baby was gasping for breath. However, the driver refused to put the oxygen mask back. The baby was taken to the emergency ward after 8-10 minutes where she was declared dead.
Police has taken the ambulance driver into custody.
