Couturier Rohit Bal proved once again that he is the cream of the crop at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, Spring-Summer 2015 grand finale. The designer presented a magnificent show making everything as ostentatious as he could. Bal's friend and actor Arjun Rampal made the girls swoon as he turned showstopper and sauntered on the ramp in a black Bandhgala and a pair of Jodhpuri trousers. Organised in Quli Khan's tomb, with Qutub Minar in the backdrop, the onlookers were taken to the Mughal era as the models swayed on the ramp in enchanting lehengas and sherwanis. The 53-year-old has once again set a benchmark in the fashion world by making 100 models walk on the ramp and showcasing the most beguiling collection ever.
Here are 10 things that made Gudda aka Rohit Bal's show the grandest Indian fashion show ever:
1. Talk about the venue and no other place would have been more apt than Qutub Minar for Rohit Bal's 'Gulbagh' show. The designer effortlessly took us into the Mughal era with his creation.
2. The set was designed by ace set designer Sumant Jayakrishnan. The opulence of the set couldn't be explained in words. He transformed it into a fairy tale with utter ease.
3. The spellbinding voice of music doyenne Subha Mudgal was icing on the cake.
4. The front row was graced by French footwear designer Christian Louboutin. The ace designer is friends with Rohit Bal and came flying down to see his show especially.
5. Bal explained the true meaning of grandeur and pizzazz with his show. The couturier made one hundred models walk on the ramp and that itself set a benchmark.
6. With such spectacular show, he was bound to get a standing ovation which he did get in the end.
7. Rohit's 'Gulbagh' creation took us into a land peppered with floral dreams. Flowers like peony, chrysanthemum , red roses and lotus were a complete eye delight.
8. The show was the epitome of resplendence and showcased timeless style.
9. The designer made his work top notch by making the designs so elaborate and using fabrics ranging from chanderi, mulmul, matka silk to voile.
10. And finally the showstopper Arjun Rampal, who left the ladies gasping with his machismo.
