World AIDS Day: NCC cadets march to spread word

CHENNAI: As part the World AIDS Day, the 1(TN) Medical Unit NCC in Madras Medical College on Thursday organised a prevention and awareness rally in their campus. Dr VS Vijay, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, flagged off the rally at the college and around 300 NCC cadets from different colleges and schools participated. Cadets formed a human chain in front of the college along Poonamallee High Road to create awareness of AIDS among people by holding posters, banners and distributing leaflets.  Dr V Kanakasabai, dean of MMC, Dr KSGA Naseer, principal, TN Govt Dental College, and representatives of Lions Club participated.  Col Shambu Sharma, Officer Commanding, 1 (TN) Medical Unit NCC, has coordinated and organised the rally.
