PATHANAMTHITTA: The Yogakshema Sabha has expressed deep anguish over the neglect of the birthplace of Sree Sankara at Kaladi by the authorities.In a statement here on Saturday, Yogakshema Sabha president Akeeramon Kalidasa Bhattathiri said that the devotees and the tourists, who visit the ashramam of Sree Sankara at Kaladi, were facing severe hardships to reach there owing to the parking of vehicles seized by the police on both sides of the road.Though the ashramam authorities brought the attention of the authorities concerned to the issue on many occasions, no steps had been taken to resolve the problem, Akeeramon said.The Sabha reiterated its long-standing demand to rename Nedumbassery International Airport as Adi Sankara.The State Governments over the years failed to understand the sentiments of the people in naming the airport and the railway station after Adi Sankara. At the meeting of the Sabha, chaired by Akeeramon Kalidasa Bhattathiri, secretary Kakkad Parameswaran Nampoothiri presented the resolution seeking the government for the redressal of its demands.
