YouTuber Gulzar Sheikh Arrested For Vandalising Railway Tracks For Videos

YouTuber Gulzar Sheikh, who was trying to endanger the lives of passengers placing various objects, including cycles, soaps, and stones, on railway tracks in the name of content creation, has been arrested by the UP police. The news was announced by BJP Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla.

The arrest came after the Legal Hindu Defence filed a complaint against Sheikh’s dangerous activities. A case was registered against Gulzar by RPF Post Unchahar (Lucknow Division) under RPF Post Kunda. The RPF acted promptly and arrested the accused from his residence in village Khandrauli in Uttar Pradesh.

In a post on X, the BJP leader, referred the accused as a “Rail Jihadi’ and confirmed that the YouTuber has been arrested. He also thanked the UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, UP Police, Railway minister Ashwini Vaihnaw for the prompt action.

The complaint cited violations under the sections 147,145,153 of the Railway Act and specific sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, highlighting the risk of public mischief and potential train derailments.

An examination of Sheikh’s YouTube channel, “Gulzar Indian Hacker,” reveals a troubling array of videos and shorts depicting him placing various items on railway tracks. Despite occasional disclaimers warning viewers not to perform the stunts, his content consistently featured actions. The channel, which has over 243 videos, includes one short that has garnered 15 million views. It boasts more than 235,000 subscribers and a total view count of over 137 million.
