BTS singer Jin held back his tears while he consoled his fellow military officer in a new video going viral. Kim Seok-jin was discharged from his military training on Wednesday, June 12. While videos and photos of Jin with RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook have already gone viral, a new video from the discharge ceremony has everyone’s attention. In the video, Jin was seen hugging and consoling a fellow officer who got emotional over Jin leaving.
In the video shared widely on X, Jin appeared to be fighting back his own tears while he consoled the officer. Jin caressed his back and let him cry his heart out. However, Jin eventually broke down later. Another video surfaced online showing him wipe his tears as he bid farewell to his military life.

In a live session in Weverse, he confessed to “crying a lot.” “It’s been a long time since I’ve been on camera.. I’m usually good looking and very confident about my looks but I cried earlier so I’m not very confident about it today. I cried twice today… I told my juniors who were with me for 1 year and 4 months, to not cry cause I won’t be able to not cry if they do but they ended up sobbing so there was no way I couldn’t cry.”
Except for Jin, the other BTS members are still serving their mandatory military duties. They are expected to reunite as a full group in 2025.
