Chaitra Navratri 2024: Auspicious Dates For Kalash Sthapan And Significance
Chaitra Navratri 2024 will be observed for nine days, starting on April 9 and ending with Paran on April 17.

Chaitra Navratri, a significant Hindu festival, begins with the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha in the Chaitra month, according to the Hindu calendar. This auspicious occasion not only marks the start of the Hindu New Year but also Gudi Padwa. The festivities start with the keeping of the Kalash on the first day of Chaitra Navratri, and the nine days of the fast also start. On this day, Maa Shailputri, the first of the Navadurgas, is worshipped with great devotion.

Durga Ashtami, celebrated on the Ashtami of Chaitra Navratri, is a significant day when girls are worshipped, and havan is performed. Another important day during this period is Ram Navami, celebrated on the Navami day, as it marks the birth anniversary of Lord Ram, who was born in Ayodhya on the Chaitra Shukla Navami date. After this the Chaitra Navratri fast ends. Dr Mrityunjay Tiwari, Head of the Astrology Department of Shri Kallaji Vedic University, has shared when the Chaitra Navratri will start this year when the Kalash sthapan muhurta.

Chaitra Navratri 2024 and Kalash Sthapan Muhurta

Chaitra Navratri 2024 begins on April 9 this year, per the Vedic calendar. The Muhurta for keeping the Kalash falls between 06:02 am to 10:16 am, and between 11:57 am to 12:48 pm for those unable to do it in the morning.

Ram Navami will be celebrated on April 17, that day grand worship of Ramlala will happen in the Ram Temple of Ayodhya. Celebrating Ramlala’s birth anniversary with a grand ritual and Havan will be performed on the day.

Chaitra Navratri 2024 will be observed for nine days, starting on April 9 and will end with Paran on April 17. Durga Ashtami falls on April 16, where Kanya Pujan and Hava will be organised.

During these nine auspicious days, devotees also engage in various spiritual practices such as fasting, meditation and chanting prayers to seek the blessings of the Goddess. Chaitra Navratri is truly the essence of devotion and spirituality.
