First Solar Eclipse 2024: When And Where Will Be The Sutak Period Observed On This Day?
Solar Eclipse 2024: The first solar eclipse of this year will be completely visible in the 13 states of the US.

A solar eclipse is an event that happens when the Sun’s light is obscured as the Moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun. Dr Ganesh Mishra told News 18 that the first solar eclipse of 2024 will be visible on Chaitra Amavasya, April 8, Monday. Dr Ganesh Mishra is an astrologer from the Central Sanskrit University, Puri. Chaitra Amavasya will continue from 03:21 AM to 11:50 PM. This solar eclipse will start at 09:12 PM and will end at 01:25 AM. As per Dr Ganesh, eclipses are caused by shadowy demons, Rahu and Ketu. Rahu and Ketu were once part of a divine serpent. In Hindu Astrology, Sutak is the inauspicious time taking place 12 hours before the Solar Eclipse. During this time, all auspicious works are stopped. The Sutak will end with the ending of the Solar Eclipse. An interesting aspect regarding this astronomical phenomenon is that it will not be visible in India. There will be no Sutak period here as a consequence.

Dr Ganesh said that as per astrology, when a solar eclipse or lunar eclipse is visible in a particular area, only then its Sutak period is also observed.

The first solar eclipse of this year will be completely visible in the 13 states of the United States of America. Besides this region, this eclipse will also be visible in Canada and Mexico. This solar eclipse will be seen in South-West Europe, Australia, West Asia, South America, and North America. It will also be visible in the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, North Pole, South Pole, and North West region of England and Ireland.

Whenever a solar eclipse occurs, you should remember your deity and meditate. According to the Art of Living’s website, this is because of the connection that the mind has with the moon and the body has with the Earth. You can chant the name of the deity’s name or chant any of his mantras. When the solar eclipse ends, you should clean the house, take a bath, and wear clean clothes. You should also donate wheat and jaggery to the underprivileged.
