Veteran actor Ashok Saraf has proved his acting credentials in more than 250 Marathi films and is known for his impeccable comic timing. He is now eagerly anticipating the release of his upcoming film titled Life Line directed by Saahil Shirwaikar. A Marathi portal titled Ultra-Marathibuzz has unveiled Life Line’s poster and tagged the film’s cast in it as well.
The poster shows Ashok Saraf with a stethoscope around his neck while actor Madhav Abhyankar is dressed in a priestly attire. Starring a stellar star cast of actors Hemangi Kavi, Sharmila Shinde, Bharat Dabholkar and others, this film will be released on August 2, 2024. Crescendo Entertainment has backed Life Line.
Even before being released, Life Line stirred the headlines with his brilliant performance across many film festivals. This film has been honoured with 11 international awards. Saahil Shirwaikar, Life Line’s director, said, “Since the film’s premise is a very delicate subject, we have presented it very sensitively.
There has always been a gap between science and old traditions. There is a lifeline that changes everyone’s thinking. According to the director, the film’s storyline and actors perfectly related to each other and thus, he is sure that, the audience will appreciate it as well.
Rajesh Shirwaikar has penned the Life Line’s screenplay, dialogues and lyrics as well. Ashok Patki composed the tracks while Avadhoot Gupte and Madhuri Karmarkar rendered their vocals to the tracks. Life Line’s premise will revolve around the fact of whether the life span of any human being drawn on the palms by God can be increased or not.
Talking about Ashok Saraf, the Maharashtra Bhushan Award for 2023, the highest civilian honour of the state has been bestowed on him. The Karan Arjun actor (75), in an acting career spanning nearly five decades, has also featured in several Hindi films. One of his comedy-drama television series remains Hum Paanch.
The prestigious award, comprising a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh, a medal and a citation, was presented to the celebrated actor. The occasion for the day was the 57th Maharashtra State Marathi Film Awards ceremony here by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.
